Accounting Manager – FMCG (Brussels)

About the role

Join a leading FMCG company in Brussels as an Accounting Manager and drive accounting excellence in a fast‑paced, international environment. You will lead a skilled team, optimise processes and act as the primary SAP S/4HANA user while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing cycles, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger, sub‑ledger accounting (AP, AR, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany, bank).
• Maintain reconciliations, internal controls and compliance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, external audits, VAT and corporate tax filings.
• Support treasury activities, cash‑flow forecasting and banking operations.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives within SAP S/4HANA.
• Coach, develop and motivate the accounting team to achieve high performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with proven team‑leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP, IFRS, statutory reporting and audit processes.
• Familiarity with Belgian VAT and corporate tax regulations.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French or Dutch is a plus.
