VAT Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a VAT Consultant to join PwC’s International Tax team in Belgium. You will act as the main point of contact for clients, helping them navigate complex VAT compliance requirements both locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on Belgian and cross‑border VAT compliance, policies and processes.
• Lead VAT projects from planning to delivery, ensuring high‑quality service and timely results.
• Continuously monitor changes in VAT legislation and share updates with the team.
• Collaborate with tax, transfer‑pricing and other multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver integrated solutions.
• Maintain and develop client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
• Coach and mentor junior members of the VAT compliance team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on VAT compliance experience, preferably in‑house, Big‑4, law firm or tax authority.
• Master’s degree in Tax Law, Business Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related quantitative field; postgraduate tax qualification is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset and interest in corporate strategy.
• Fluent English; Dutch or French language skills are advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
