Transport Specialist – Inland Waterway Logistics

About the role

The Transport Specialist will coordinate transport orders and chartering activities for a leading inland waterway logistics cooperative. Based near Antwerp, you will ensure efficient vessel allocation across a fleet of over 200 vessels operating throughout Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Execute transport orders and chartering tasks, scheduling and allocating customer orders.
• Optimize utilization of member vessels and assign vessels in collaboration with chartering agents.
• Prepare written quotations promptly and ensure compliance with quality management and GMP+ transport regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, supporting quotation preparation and documentation.
• Handle member inquiries, distribute transport assignments fairly, and participate in member events.
• Contribute to a positive team environment, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong communication and administrative abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, enjoys variety and works well in a team.
• Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written) and proficient in French.
• Based in the Antwerp area.
