Teamlead Procurement Mechanical Components

About the role

Join Jan De Nul’s large procurement department in Hofstade as the Teamlead for Mechanical Components. You will steer a team of 12 purchasing professionals, ensuring the end‑to‑end procurement process runs smoothly while staying closely involved in critical buying decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a mixed team of administrative staff, purchasers and senior purchasers.
• Define and implement team‑specific purchasing strategies aligned with departmental goals.
• Negotiate contracts, monitor KPIs, and optimise lead times from request to order.
• Oversee order verification, manage critical requests, and conduct bi‑weekly coordination meetings.
• Collaborate with Procurement Excellence and category buyers to maintain a collegial, efficient environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (technical background preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a similar procurement or purchasing leadership role.
• Strong interest in technical topics and ability to coach people.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of engine spare parts for ships.
• Familiarity with valves, pumps and hydraulic components.
• Contract negotiation.
• Procurement process management.
