System Hotline Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time System Hotline Engineer to provide technical support for trackside signalling solutions at our Charleroi site. You will work closely with deployment teams, engineers and customers to ensure reliable operation of mainline signalling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical point of reference for hotline support on trackside signalling solutions.
• Review issues raised by deployment teams, identify recurring trends and provide clear answers or escalation inputs.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and fault diagnosis using structured methods.
• Record issues, solutions, lessons learned and troubleshooting steps in concise documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, project teams and customers to deliver professional communication and reliable support.
• Support continuous improvement through post‑incident reviews, knowledge sharing and definition of best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electronics, Automation, Robotics or Computer Science).
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Strong understanding of system development principles and ability to analyse complex system architectures.
• Interest in documentation‑based analysis and a customer‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, GSM‑R and FRMCS.
• Programming experience with Ada, C, C++ and scripting in Python.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written English for clear and rigorous documentation.
