Software Engineer – Data Processing & AI

About the role

Moody's is looking for a Software Engineer to design, build and support multi‑source data processing pipelines. You will work on integrating heterogeneous data formats, automating data retrieval, and contributing to AI‑enabled risk assessment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data processing pipelines that ingest data from FTP servers, APIs and internal repositories.
• Automate data retrieval, storage and organization using scripts, batch jobs and schedulers.
• Validate data formats (TXT, CSV, XML, JSON, HTML, XBRL) and ensure data quality through logging and monitoring.
• Transform and standardise data according to business rules and create/maintain database structures.
• Implement basic indexing, querying mechanisms and support integration of external datasets.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail for data validation.
• Interest in artificial intelligence concepts and responsible AI practices.
• Ability to work under guidance and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++ and/or C#.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational database systems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Experience with version control tools such as GitHub.
• Exposure to Python for data processing or automation.
