Social Media Officer

About the role

The Office of Strategic Communications at NATO is looking for a dynamic Social Media Officer to champion a digital‑first culture across NATO’s official channels. You will create engaging content, monitor trends, and help the Alliance meet its strategic communication objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage selected @NATO social media accounts and provide backup for other channels.
• Plan, create, post and monitor daily content, handling community management autonomously.
• Identify and implement paid‑advertising opportunities aligned with NATO priorities.
• Lead communication projects for ministerial meetings, summits, campaigns and large‑scale events.
• Collaborate with the Head of Social Media and the Social Media Manager to shape channel strategy.

Required profile

• University degree in communications, international affairs or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience managing multiple social media platforms.
• Strong political awareness and ability to produce creative, relevant content for diverse audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in one NATO official language (English or French) and beginner level in the other.
