Shipping Officer

About the role

Sabca is looking for a Shipping Officer to manage the administrative processes linked to the shipment of goods for its aerospace programmes in Brussels. The role ensures accurate documentation, coordination with carriers and compliance with deadlines while delivering high-level customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and verify shipping documents such as invoices, delivery notes and certificates of origin.
• Register and archive shipment data in the company’s IT systems and keep order information up to date.
• Plan deliveries together with carriers and internal teams, ensuring compliance with customs and local regulations.
• Monitor shipment traceability, handle delays or irregularities and communicate status to customers.
• Provide customers with shipment information, address complaints or requests and maintain positive relationships with carriers.
• Identify and propose improvements to administrative shipping procedures and collaborate with other departments to boost supply-chain efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with EN9100 quality and ISO 14001 environmental standards, perform self-checks and follow safety, health and environmental rules.
• Transfer knowledge to new team members and support a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a similar shipping or logistics role.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Rigorous, reliable and service-oriented with a team spirit.
• Willingness to comply with quality, safety and environmental standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of shipping documentation and customs regulations.
• Familiarity with IT systems for shipment data management.
