Senior Software Engineer

About the role

EasyPost is seeking a hands‑on Senior Software Engineer to build and operate its secure document‑delivery platform. You will own features from design through production, focusing on backend and cloud engineering within an event‑driven AWS environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop TypeScript services, AWS Lambda functions and NestJS APIs.
• Build and maintain serverless infrastructure using AWS CDK.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical designs together with the team lead.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, documenting trade‑offs and consequences.
• Create resilient event‑driven workflows handling retries, duplicate events, timeouts, concurrency and partial failures.
• Integrate with external e‑invoicing, e‑delivery and e‑signing providers via APIs and webhooks.
• Apply security best practices such as encryption, least‑privilege access and audit logging.
• Write unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests using Jest.
• Monitor production systems and investigate issues across code, AWS infrastructure and external integrations.
• Review code, mentor colleagues and raise engineering standards.
