Senior Red Hat Linux System Administrator – Brussels

About the role

Axians is looking for a Senior System Administrator specialized in Red Hat Linux to join its European Institutions' Team in Brussels. You will work in a high‑impact Operations Centre, ensuring the stability, security and performance of critical IT services across hybrid on‑premise and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, harden and maintain physical and virtual Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers.
• Manage approximately 600 Linux servers, handling patching, monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Administer Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Identity Management, system certificates, SSH access and service accounts.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts in Shell and Python, and use Ansible for infrastructure management.
• Deploy and manage containers with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support Linux environments on Oracle clusters and monitor systems with open‑source tools.
• Handle incident and problem management, ensuring security compliance and vulnerability remediation.
• Design and implement new Linux‑based solutions, evaluate new technologies and participate in cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6/7/8).
• Hands‑on expertise with Ansible, Red Hat Satellite and automation tools.
• Proficiency in Shell and/or Python scripting.
• Experience in system hardening, vulnerability management and patching.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Oracle cluster environments.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, fast‑changing environment and collaborate with network, security, development and architecture teams.
