Senior Python / Agentic AI Engineer

About the role

Capco, a global consulting firm focused on financial services, is hiring a Senior Python / Agentic AI Engineer for its AI Lab in Brussels. The AI Lab turns advanced AI research into deployable solutions for clients and internal products, covering applied research, rapid prototyping, production engineering and evaluation and safety work.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, production-grade Python services that use LLMs and agentic architectures.
• Build agent workflows and orchestration patterns to automate complex business processes in regulated enterprise environments.
• Maintain AI-enabled backend systems, including orchestration layers, tool integrations, knowledge access mechanisms and observability.
• Design knowledge access architectures for LLM systems, such as retrieval strategies, semantic indexing and interfaces to enterprise data sources.
• Apply software engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, monitoring, structured logging and versioning of prompts and models.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications and translate business requirements into secure, compliant solutions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions on agent orchestration, reasoning workflows and model integration.
• Optionally build user interfaces with Angular or React.

Required profile

• Fluent English and fluent Dutch or French.
• 5+ years of experience building enterprise-grade Python applications.
• Proven experience deploying agentic or LLM-powered systems in production, preferably in enterprise or regulated settings.
• Experience building reliable AI systems beyond prototypes, with attention to testing, monitoring and operational stability.

Required skills

• Deep Python proficiency, including modern frameworks, OOP and design patterns.
• Agentic architectures: orchestration, tool usage, planning workflows and system-level reasoning.
• Production APIs and backend services integrated with enterprise systems.
• Optional: Angular or React.
