Data Privacy & Information Security Consultant

About the role

Capco's ICT Risk practice, based in Brussels, is looking for a Data Privacy Consultant to advise leading financial institutions on strengthening their data protection frameworks, managing privacy risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with business, IT, legal and compliance stakeholders to turn complex privacy requirements into practical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on the legal, organisational and technical aspects of data privacy, data protection and information security
• Carry out privacy and data protection risk assessments, identify compliance gaps and recommend mitigation measures
• Support the implementation and improvement of privacy governance frameworks, policies, standards and procedures
• Help clients comply with data protection regulations, especially the GDPR
• Perform gap analyses, impact assessments and compliance reviews
• Translate new regulatory requirements into operational processes and business controls
• Bridge business, IT, legal and compliance teams
• Contribute to Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
• Design and deliver privacy awareness training and initiatives
• Manage client stakeholder relationships and contribute to proposals, methodologies and knowledge sharing

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Relevant experience or expertise in data privacy, data protection, information security or regulatory compliance
• Understanding of privacy principles in the European regulatory environment and knowledge of GDPR
• Experience implementing or supporting privacy policies, compliance frameworks or regulatory requirements
• Interest in the financial services industry and regulated environments
• Good knowledge of French or Dutch (written and spoken) and strong English

Required skills

• Good to have: previous privacy or data protection consulting experience, preferably in financial services
• Good to have: experience supporting Data Protection Officers or conducting DPIAs, privacy risk assessments and gap analyses
• Good to have: familiarity with ISO 27001, ISO 27701 or NIST, and awareness of DORA and NIS2
• Good to have: privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT
