Senior Mobile Application Developer (Hybrid, Brussels)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Application Developer to join our team in Brussels on a hybrid basis. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the user‑facing layer of the My Citizen Profile platform, which serves hundreds of thousands of Flemish citizens through both a central portal and numerous municipal apps.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and publish native mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Ensure high quality, accessibility (WCAG compliance) and consistency across all citizen‑facing interfaces.
• Collaborate with Flemish, local and federal teams to integrate components seamlessly, respecting design‑system guidelines.
• Maintain code versioning, profiling and issue‑tracking processes using Git and related tools.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of the development workflow.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing native Android and iOS applications.
• Strong background with JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, testing and code‑profiling tools, and issue‑management systems.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience building accessible applications following WCAG standards.
