Senior Engineering Manager

About the role

This senior engineering manager role is based in Belgium and operates in a remote‑first, globally distributed environment. You will lead high‑impact initiatives focused on scalability, reliability and security, shaping the technical roadmap for infrastructure, cloud platforms and compliance domains.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multiple engineering teams or workstreams, ensuring delivery excellence and strategic alignment.
• Define and drive long‑term technical vision for infrastructure, cloud platforms, security, IT or compliance.
• Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers through coaching, succession planning and leadership development.
• Establish scalable engineering practices around reliability, performance, incident response, automation and operational excellence.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, finance and other stakeholders to align priorities and communicate technical risks.
• Own roadmap planning, budgeting, staffing strategies and organizational growth with high autonomy.
• Guide architectural decisions, identify technical debt and implement sustainable improvement plans.
• Support enterprise‑level security, compliance and infrastructure initiatives while maintaining cost efficiency.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of engineering management experience, leading multiple teams or large‑scale technical functions.
• Proven track record in performance management, hiring, career development and organizational planning.
• Strong technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, security, IT operations or compliance.
• Ability to define architectural direction, evaluate trade‑offs and influence senior leadership.
