About the role

As a Purchaser at Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk, you will own the supplier management for a defined set of commodities. You will work closely with internal teams such as marketing, engineering, logistics, and production to build and optimise the supply chain while balancing cost, quality, logistics, development, contracting and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with divisional targets for margin, customer satisfaction and growth.
• Initiate price requests, evaluate suppliers on commercial, technical and logistical criteria and lead negotiations for supply agreements.
• Conduct market research, benchmarks and synergy analyses to deliver savings and improve availability.
• Collaborate with quality engineers on supplier performance and with logistics to ensure on‑time deliveries.
• Support project budgeting and planning, and provide data for design and redesign initiatives.

Required profile

• Higher education degree in business, engineering or equivalent experience.
• Pragmatic problem‑solver with strong interest in commercial negotiations and supply chains.
• High learning agility, willingness to learn and ability to work in a hybrid environment.
• Professional communication skills in English for internal and external stakeholder interaction.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Familiarity with Power BI.
• Experience with BPCS AS400 systems (considered a plus).
