Professor of Pharmaco‑Epidemiology

About the role

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at KU Leuven seeks a Professor of Pharmaco‑Epidemiology to lead cutting‑edge research, supervise students, and contribute to teaching programmes in pharmaceutical care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑impact scientific research in pharmaco‑epidemiology and publish in top journals.
• Attract competitive funding and build national and international collaborations.
• Supervise Master’s, PhD, and post‑doctoral researchers, fostering their academic development.
• Serve as a methodological and domain expert for cross‑disciplinary projects within the department and university hospitals.
• Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and supervise theses for the Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Care and related programmes.
• Participate in departmental management, professional organisations, and advisory bodies, including regulatory agencies and health authorities.
• Promote knowledge transfer, public communication, and partnerships with insurers, hospital networks, and pharmacovigilance centres.

Required profile

• Master’s degree and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Biostatistics or a closely related field.
• Strong pharmacological, pharmacotherapeutic, statistical and clinical reasoning expertise.
• Post‑doctoral experience in pharmaco‑epidemiology, biostatistics, pharmacotherapy or applied pharmacology.
• Demonstrated high‑quality research output and proven teaching competence.
