Academic in Human Biology and Neurobiology

About the role

UCLouvain seeks a full‑time academic to teach and conduct research in Human Biology and Neurobiology within the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences and the Institute of NeuroScience.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Bachelor’s and Master’s courses in biology, neurobiology and neuroscience and supervise Master’s theses.
• Develop and lead neuroscience research programmes, supervise PhD theses and provide academic leadership for the Neuroscience track.
• Participate in service activities such as programme committees, examination committees and faculty or institute management after tenure.

Required profile

• PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology or equivalent.
• Proven university teaching record with formal evaluations where possible.
• Internationally recognised scientific publications and experience abroad.

Required skills

• Ability to integrate research results into teaching and work collaboratively in an academic team.
• Capability to conduct high‑level scientific research, secure funding and manage research teams.
• Fluency in French and English (or commitment to acquire within two years).

What we offer

• Tenure‑track position with tenure after a successful probationary period (typically four years) and a public sector pension.
• Progressive salary based on seniority and promotion, with teaching load capped at 90 hours (full‑time) and 150 hours after tenure.
