Policy Officer Public Affairs EU

About the role

Yara International is seeking a Policy Officer to strengthen its EU public affairs impact, focusing on climate and energy policy. Reporting to the Director of EU Policy, the role supports advocacy strategy execution and stakeholder engagement across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Yara’s policy priorities at EU level, covering the Clean Industrial Deal, EU ETS, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, CCS, Industrial Accelerator Act and the post‑2030 Renewable Energy Framework.
• Coordinate advocacy projects between EU and national levels, manage project streams, and represent Yara in relevant associations and alliances.
• Maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders to position Yara as a leading actor in energy, climate and industry policy.
• Support team operations, including event preparation, reporting, and internal presentations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in EU public policy, public affairs, advocacy or related fields.
• Strong understanding of the EU political environment and institutions.
• Master’s degree in international relations, political science, European studies, energy & climate policy or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Excellent English writing and editing skills (C1‑C2).
• Ability to translate complex topics for diverse audiences.
• Outstanding organizational abilities in a fast‑moving environment.
