Mid-level Backend Software Developer (NestJS, TypeScript)

About the role

We are seeking a Medior Backend Software Developer to join a collaborative Scrum team focused on digital customer onboarding flows for energy providers. You will design, build, and maintain scalable, high‑performance backend services that power critical customer journeys, working closely with frontend developers, product owners, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement modular backend services using NestJS and TypeScript.
• Maintain and optimise MongoDB data stores and related indexing strategies.
• Integrate Redis, queues, and asynchronous processing for performance and scalability.
• Implement authentication and authorization using Auth0.
• Containerise applications with Docker and deploy to Azure or AWS environments.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline setup and automated delivery.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning and story refinement.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• At least 2 years building production‑grade applications with NestJS and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of Git workflows, code reviews, and unit testing best practices.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL (a plus).
• Awareness of web security best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
