Medical Coordinator – Emergency Roster

About the role

Join Médecins du Monde Belgium’s Emergency Roster as a Medical Coordinator. You will be ready to deploy quickly to health emergencies, support occasional missions and cover staff absences across our intervention zones in Africa and Eastern Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate on‑site technical teams in the design, implementation and follow‑up of health programmes.
• Ensure the quality and efficiency of health interventions in assigned countries.
• Support needs assessments and multisectoral contextual analyses.
• Provide technical assistance to Project Coordinators for healthcare activities.
• Implement and monitor tracking and assessment mechanisms, ensuring lessons are captured and recommendations followed.
• Assist the pharmacy referent in preparing medical orders to prevent stock‑outs and expirations.
• Represent Médecins du Monde Belgium with national and local partners, authorities and funders on health‑related matters.

Required profile

• Qualified medical professional (doctor, nurse or paramedic) with experience in emergency or humanitarian health settings.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
• Strong analytical skills for needs assessment and programme monitoring.
