Mechanical Engineer – Defense (CREO, CATIA)

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join its Defence team in Belgium. You will be responsible for creating and refining mechanical components and assemblies for high‑tech projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and modify mechanical parts and assemblies using CREO PTC and CATIA.
• Manage technical data, documentation, and configuration control.
• Conduct detailed mechanical design studies, including functional dimensioning, tolerances, and the design of machined parts, sheet metal, and composite components.
• Create and validate electrical harnesses, routing, and integration.
• Produce 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings, applying GD&T and drawing standards.
• Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and handle design revisions.
• Provide technical support throughout the product development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Fluent in French and/or English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Experience in aerospace, railway or military sectors is a plus.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding and sheet‑metal fabrication is advantageous.
