Managing Director Belgium

About the role

The Managing Director for Belgium will take full ownership of the Belgian entity of a steel distribution organization. This senior leadership position is responsible for driving a strategic turnaround, restoring profitability, and shaping market leadership in a specialised industrial sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full P&L responsibility for Belgian operations.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive turnaround strategy.
• Drive commercial excellence, strengthen key accounts and identify growth opportunities.
• Reposition the business in the Belgian market with a differentiated value proposition.
• Build, develop and motivate a high‑performing leadership team.
• Strengthen relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders across the steel value chain.
• Align local execution with Group strategy while adapting to market dynamics.
• Promote a strong culture of health, safety, compliance and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience at Managing Director or General Manager level within the steel industry (distribution, processing or related sectors).
• Successful track record of turning around loss‑making businesses.
• Strong commercial background in B2B industrial sales.
• Extensive P&L management, cost restructuring and margin improvement experience.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
• Resilient, hands‑on and results‑oriented leadership style.
