Logistics Technician – Inventory & Asset Management

About the role

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team is looking for a Logistics Technician to manage ticketed work, guide a team of technicians, and ensure accurate inventory and asset balances across data center operations. This role offers exposure to large‑scale cloud infrastructure and the chance to mentor peers while supporting critical inbound and outbound logistics processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize ticketing queues, resolve escalations, and clear blocking issues to keep Inventory & Asset Management (IAM) activities on schedule.
• Provide task‑specific guidance to technicians handling incoming/outgoing deliveries, purchase order receiving, and rack movement supervision.
• Coordinate with third‑party warehouses, OEM vendors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth inbound and outbound logistics.
• Perform assigned logistics tasks and escalate high‑volume or critical issues as needed.
• Leverage process knowledge to support on‑site and remote data‑center activities and improve overall service quality.

Required profile

• Experience in logistics, inventory, or asset management within a technical environment.
• Strong stakeholder focus with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
• Proven ability to work in high‑volume, fast‑paced settings and handle escalations.
• Mentorship mindset to guide junior technicians and drive continuous improvement.
