Legal Counsel

About the role

Credendo is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its legal team at the Brussels head office. The Legal Counsel will advise on international transactions, export‑credit insurance and financing matters, blending rigorous legal analysis with pragmatic, business‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage claims files related to export transactions and buyer’s credits across multiple legal domains.
• Liaise with exporters, banks, embassies and external advisers.
• Provide advice on company, insolvency and (re)insurance law in an international context.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into clear, actionable guidance.
• Contribute to the design and refinement of insurance and financing products, ensuring legal feasibility.
• Participate in negotiations, balancing legal, commercial and relational interests.
• Maintain structured, critical analysis of complex cases.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
• Business‑oriented with a strong interest in the financial aspects of international trade.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
