Lawyer – Capital Market and Treasury (Luxembourg)

About the role

The European Investment Bank is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its Capital Market and Treasury Legal Unit in Luxembourg. The role involves providing specialised legal advice to the Finance and Risk Management Directorates on capital market and treasury operations, supporting the Bank’s funding activities and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on capital market transactions, treasury operations, liquidity management and derivatives.
• Support the development and documentation of financial instruments, structured products and digital finance initiatives.
• Contribute to the legal framework for funding programmes, issuance documentation and disclosure matters.
• Analyse legal and financial risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Assist in structuring and executing treasury‑related transactions, including risk and pricing frameworks.
• Maintain relationships with national and international financial institutions, external counterparties and law firms.
• Participate in strategic, cross‑functional projects and stay updated on legal developments.

Required profile

• University degree in law (minimum Bachelor level), preferably with a specialisation in financial, banking or business law.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally combining legal work in capital markets, treasury or banking environments.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience drafting and reviewing complex financial documentation.
