Academic in Law, Transition and Economic Governance

About the role

UCLouvain seeks a full‑time academic to teach and research in law, transition and economic governance within the Faculty of Law and Criminology and the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Legal and Criminology Sciences.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses on corporate regulation, sustainable development, public economic law, banking law, business and tax law, or media law, and supervise Master’s theses.
• Develop and lead research programmes on transition, economic governance and regulation, supervise PhD theses, and contribute to the university’s international visibility.
• Participate in service activities such as programme or examination committees and potentially hold management responsibilities within the faculty or institute.

Required profile

• PhD in Legal Sciences with a proven record of university teaching and internationally recognised publications.
• Experience abroad or extended stay outside the awarding institution; practical experience in governmental, judicial or legal practice is an asset.
• Ability to work in French and English (or commit to acquire proficiency within two years); knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

• Integrating research results into teaching and conducting high‑level scientific research, including funding acquisition and team management.
• Creative, multidisciplinary approach bridging public law and economic law, with interdisciplinary or theoretical research on economic dynamics of transition.
