Junior/Mid-level Associate – EU Regulatory/Environment

About the role

Mayer Brown’s EU Regulatory practice is looking for a Junior or Mid‑level Associate to join its Brussels team. The successful candidate will work on EU regulatory matters, including environment, chemicals and life‑sciences sectors, and may support litigation before EU Courts or Boards of Appeal.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on EU regulatory issues, particularly in the environmental, chemicals and life‑sciences fields.
• Assist senior lawyers with EU litigation matters before the EU Courts or Boards of Appeal.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, opinions and other client‑focused documents.
• Collaborate with cross‑border teams to support complex, multi‑jurisdictional projects.

Required profile

• Admission to the bar of an EU Member State.
• Strong academic background with a focus on EU law.
• 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in a law firm, national jurisdiction, or EU institution.
• Knowledge of EU litigation before EU Courts or Boards of Appeal is an advantage.
• Experience in EU regulatory law (environment, chemicals, life‑sciences) is a plus.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one other EU language.
