Junior Cybersecurity Engineer (M/F/X)

About the role

You will join Leonardo Belgium’s EU CyberSec Regional Center in Brussels, working with a team of cybersecurity professionals on large‑scale international projects. The position is designed for candidates who want to start a career in cybersecurity while gaining hands‑on experience with modern security technologies and highly regulated environments.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the deployment and operation of cybersecurity solutions and controls.
• Support secure configuration and hardening of systems, applications, and network components.
• Assist with vulnerability remediation and security improvement activities.
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of security‑related issues.
• Help integrate security into infrastructure and development environments.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and implementation records.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity architects, risk managers, and other security stakeholders.
• Support reporting activities and communicate progress to project teams when required.

Required profile

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT or a related field (alternative paths with proven experience considered).
• Initial professional experience in the cybersecurity domain, with exposure to implementation or operation of security solutions.
• Structured and analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Curiosity, willingness to learn and ability to work in a fast‑paced international environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork across borders.
