Java Developer – Agile Banking Digital Channels

About the role

Nexeo is seeking a Java Developer (Dev Engineer) to join a strategic Agile tribe that delivers the bank’s customer channels and digital experiences across web and mobile. You will work on critical payment‑related solutions used daily by customers, contributing to end‑to‑end feature delivery in a modern, cloud‑enabled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Translate functional and technical requirements into high‑quality, maintainable Java code.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Framework and Maven.
• Integrate external APIs and data sources, leveraging RESTful APIs and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
• Ensure performance, reliability, scalability and responsiveness of applications.
• Participate in DevOps activities, including CI/CD pipeline setup and optimization.
• Contribute to API automation testing and apply test‑driven development practices.
• Engage actively in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 years of Java development experience in Agile environments.
• Strong working knowledge of English; French or Dutch is a plus.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Framework, Maven.
• Database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
• RESTful APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI (YAML).
• Object‑Oriented design, DDD, SOLID principles, design patterns.
• Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and refactoring.
• Git version control.
• CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and practices.
• SAST tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, NexusIQ.
• Docker and containerization (nice to have).
• Groovy scripting and API automation testing (nice to have).
