Interim Logistics Manager (Freelance) – Brussels

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Interim Logistics Manager on a freelance basis to lead warehouse operations for a manufacturing client in Brussels. The role focuses on improving efficiency, managing performance metrics and ensuring high service levels across inbound, storage and outbound activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day warehouse and logistics operations, covering inbound, inventory and outbound functions.
• Manage KPIs such as OTIF, inventory accuracy, productivity, safety and cost performance.
• Coordinate workflows, staffing and third‑party logistics providers (3PLs) to optimise throughput.
• Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce waste and boost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Drive inventory control processes and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, procurement, customer service and transport teams.
• Support warehouse transformation, restructuring or system implementation projects.
• Analyse operational data and report regularly to senior leadership.
• Coach and develop warehouse supervisors and operational teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics leadership, preferably in distribution, supply‑chain or manufacturing environments.
• Strong background managing large warehouse operations and cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Comfortable working in an interim, fast‑changing environment.

Required skills

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Familiarity with ERP platforms, preferably SAP.
