Human Resources Lead – International HR Management

About the role

The Human Resources Lead will support a fast‑growing non‑profit organisation with operations in Belgium, Germany, the UK and across the EU. Based in Brussels, you will shape recruitment, compliance, employee development and workforce strategy for a diverse, international workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage recruitment projects and a recruitment plan aligned with the organisation’s expansion.
• Oversee onboarding, off‑boarding and re‑entry processes to ensure smooth employee transitions.
• Lead employment‑law compliance across multiple jurisdictions, working with legal advisors on contracts, privacy and data protection.
• Manage relationships with external payroll and HR service providers, guaranteeing accurate payroll administration.
• Maintain and update HR files, systems and policies, ensuring consistency across countries.
• Support performance appraisals, mid‑term reviews and development plans for all staff.
• Develop and implement learning‑and‑development programmes and oversee internship initiatives.
• Assist the Chief of Staff and Operations on culture, wellbeing and workforce planning.
• Provide HR data, analytics and workforce insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Support organisational design, succession planning and project‑based organisational development.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of HR management experience, preferably in an international corporate or SME environment.
• Proven ability to operate at both strategic and hands‑on operational levels.
• Strong background in recruitment, talent acquisition and workforce planning.
• Experience managing external payroll providers and employment‑law advisors across several jurisdictions.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
