HR Business Partner – Belgium & Luxembourg

About the role

The HR Business Partner for Belgium & Luxembourg will act as the primary liaison between AIG’s General Insurance business and its employee representatives. Reporting to the HR France‑Belgium‑Luxembourg Manager, the role combines legal HR expertise with generalist responsibilities across employee relations, policy compliance and strategic HR support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Workers Council committee and manage regular interaction with trade unions in Belgium and Luxembourg.
• Negotiate company‑wide and sectoral agreements, chair works council meetings and oversee employee‑relations matters.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with external lawyers to ensure compliance with local labour legislation.
• Provide HR generalist advice on organisational change, crisis management, disciplinary actions and terminations.
• Update HR policies, processes and practices to reflect regulatory changes.
• Drive engagement, wellness and health initiatives as part of the CPPT programme.
• Communicate HR updates to local HR teams, general managers, employees and external suppliers.
• Coach senior managers and the General Manager on HR strategy and legal challenges.
• Administer employee contracts, benefits administration and support international assignments (in‑patriates and expatriates).

Required profile

• Extensive experience in HR, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian and Luxembourg labour law and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both face‑to‑face and telephone.
• Fluent in French, Dutch and English.
• Team‑player attitude and ability to thrive in an open‑space, flexible‑desk environment.
