About the role
The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests onboard, ensuring their issues are resolved quickly and their experience remains enjoyable. This position requires a strong guest‑satisfaction mindset, a sense of humor, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Key responsibilities
- Listen actively to guest concerns and provide timely assistance.
- Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates, and maintain accurate records.
- Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
- Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to resolve problems and negotiate solutions.
- Maintain high standards of hospitality, organization, and decision‑making throughout the shift.
Required profile
- Minimum one‑year experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
- One‑year cash‑handling experience with knowledge of US currency.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Willingness to work onboard for 5‑6 months.
- Clear and distinct spoken English; ability to read and write English.
