Freelance Financial Controller (3-6 months)

About the role

This is a short‑term freelance position focused on maintaining the continuity of recurring finance activities and providing support during month‑end, year‑end, and audit cycles. The role operates within established processes and strict timelines, without involvement in process redesign.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the group closing process by uploading financial data from SAP to the consolidation tool (SIGMA/Prophix) and performing completeness and consistency checks.
• Coordinate with local finance teams to resolve variances and data issues identified during the close.
• Support group and statutory audits by collecting, organizing, and tracking audit documentation from local entities.
• Follow up on open audit points to ensure timely completion.
• Help the HQ team prepare consolidated reporting packages for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Background in accounting or finance with hands‑on experience in reporting or consolidation.
• Comfortable working with defined processes, recurring tasks, and strict deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Ability to work independently while closely coordinating with the HQ team.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Office 365).
• Experience with SAP ERP.
• Familiarity with consolidation tools such as SIGMA or Prophix.
• Exposure to audit processes; knowledge of direct tax or transfer pricing is a plus.
