Risk Officer – Operational Risk & Third‑Party Management

About the role

We are looking for a Risk Officer to join Paynovate’s Risk team as part of the second line of defence. The role focuses on third‑party risk management and Risk & Control Self‑Assessments (RCSA), working closely with the Head of Risk to identify, assess and monitor operational risks across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and review of RCSA across Paynovate, collaborating with business teams to understand processes and assess operational risks.
• Assess inherent and residual risks, challenge control design and effectiveness, and define risk responses and remediation actions.
• Lead third‑party risk activities, including criticality assessments, due diligence, monitoring, exit strategies and evaluation of sub‑outsourcing in line with EBA and DORA requirements.
• Work with Operations, Finance, Product, Fraud/Financial Crime and IT/Security teams to continuously improve the Enterprise Risk Management framework.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in risk, operational risk, internal control, third‑party risk or a similar area within financial services.
• Strong understanding of risk and internal control principles, able to analyse end‑to‑end processes and assess control effectiveness.
• Analytical mindset with solid Excel skills, including pivot tables, reconciliations and formula‑based data analysis.
• Proficiency with tools for process mapping and documentation, and a professional level of English.
