Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a well‑established, fast‑growing international business in Waregem. This role goes beyond traditional reporting, offering the chance to become a trusted partner to senior leadership, influence strategic decisions, and help scale a high‑performing finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and prepare statutory and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP and group reporting standards.
• Manage audits and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
• Translate financial data into clear insights for senior management and support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning.
• Monitor KPIs, identify profitability improvement opportunities and provide financial guidance for new projects.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement of finance processes, strengthening internal controls and risk management.
• Collaborate closely with accounting, operations and leadership teams, acting as a trusted sparring partner for the Finance Director/CEO.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in finance, controlling or audit, preferably with Big 4 exposure.
• Strong financial reporting and analytical abilities.
• Experience in an international or fast‑growing environment is a plus.
• Proactive, ownership‑driven mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
