About the role
IMI Climate Control is expanding its engineering unit in Walloon Brabant, near Louvain‑La‑Neuve. We are looking for an Embedded Software Development Engineer to design and implement firmware for hydronic heating and air‑conditioning systems that communicate via IoT protocols.
Key responsibilities
- Develop firmware for embedded devices integrating IoT communication standards.
- Break down functional specifications into tasks, perform technical analysis and estimate effort.
- Create test plans, unit tests, functional and non‑regression tests.
- Investigate bug reports, debug issues and document solutions.
- Maintain documentation and share knowledge within the team.
- Monitor emerging technologies and propose innovative improvements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in embedded software development.
- Proficiency in English; French is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with teammates working on iOS/Android UI and industrial communication protocols.
- Curiosity about product functionality and a collaborative mindset.
Required skills
- C programming language.
- Python programming.
- Embedded development practices.
- IoT communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, KNX – optional).
