Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Engineer, R&D Mechanical Design will be responsible for designing a variety of mechanical assemblies, from 3D conceptual models through calculations, simulations, detailed manufacturing drawings and specification of purchased parts. The role uses advanced software tools that enable FEA and motion simulations as part of global technology development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into innovative designs and lead design reviews.
• Assemble prototype designs, gather learn‑outs and optimise the final product.
• Ensure smooth technology transfer and design specification hand‑over to manufacturing.
• Focus on safety, environmental aspects and ease of maintenance while maintaining robustness.
• Produce accurate assembly and detailed drawings, manage parts lists and electronic filing.
• Request quotes for fabricated and purchased components and monitor deliveries for quality.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of experience in mechanical design and machinery development.
• Proven experience with new technologies and state‑of‑the‑art equipment.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
• Strong problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.

• Advanced CAD software proficiency.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and motion simulation.
