Embedded Software Development Engineer – Industrial Applications

About the role

IMI Climate Control is seeking an Embedded Software Development Engineer to join its engineering unit in Walloon Brabant. You will work on firmware for embedded systems that integrate various IoT communication protocols used in hydronic heating and air‑conditioning circuits.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop firmware for embedded devices supporting IoT protocols.
• Break down functionalities into tasks, perform technical analysis and estimate development effort.
• Create test plans, unit tests, functional and non‑regression tests.
• Track bug reports, debug issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Document implementations and share knowledge within the team.
• Monitor emerging technologies and propose innovative improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in embedded software development.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.
• Curious, creative, eager to learn and comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C programming.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Embedded development experience.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus and KNX protocols (a plus).
