Direct Purchasing Buyer – Industrial Components

About the role

Join the purchasing team of a leading industrial client in Belgium and support the launch of a new product project. You will be responsible for the operational procurement of direct mechanical, electrical or system‑level components, ensuring availability, cost competitiveness and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end sourcing and procurement of direct components within the assigned commodity scope.
• Lead RFQ processes, conduct bid analyses and negotiate commercial terms with suppliers.
• Select and qualify suppliers according to project timelines and technical requirements.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to guarantee delivery performance, quality compliance and cost targets.
• Track purchase orders, delivery schedules and supplier commitments.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and logistics teams for new product introduction.
• Contribute to cost‑reduction and value‑improvement initiatives.
• Monitor supplier KPIs and drive corrective actions when needed.

Required profile

• 2–6 years of experience in direct purchasing or component procurement in an industrial environment.
• Background in automotive, railway, aerospace or similar manufacturing sectors.
• Proven experience in supplier negotiation, RFQ management and component sourcing.
• Ability to work in a project environment with tight deadlines and cross‑functional teams.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
