Data Engineer – Data Migration Specialist

About the role

Everience is looking for a Data Engineer with a strong focus on data migration. You will work closely with migration architects and engineers to ensure seamless transfer of data from legacy systems to new platforms, maintaining data quality and integrity throughout the process.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse existing databases and systems to understand data structures, functional objects, and data quality issues.
• Collaborate with migration architects and engineers to design robust migration solutions.
• Develop conversion and mapping rules to align source data with target system requirements.
• Perform validation and quality checks to guarantee accurate, complete, and usable migrated data.
• Monitor data consistency and integrity to prevent loss or corruption during migration.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of experience in data migration or related data engineering tasks.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand functional processes and their impact on data architecture.
• Excellent problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills to identify and resolve migration bottlenecks.
• Effective communication skills to act as a bridge between business analysts and migration engineers.

Required skills

• SQL proficiency for data retrieval, analysis, and manipulation.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Experience with non‑relational (NoSQL) databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Data modeling expertise.
