Corporate Finance & Strategy Associate

About the role

Aerospacelab designs and manufactures small satellites and develops earth observation services, with offices in Belgium, France, Switzerland and the US West Coast. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Finance & Strategy, you will work directly on the company's biggest transactions: acquisitions and investments, equity financing, strategic partnerships and investor relations. The team is small, so you own substantive parts of real deals early, moving between industry mapping, due diligence, board memos and investor data rooms. The position is full-time and permanent, based in Belgium (Mont-Saint-Guibert / Charleroi) with hybrid working and some international travel.

Key responsibilities

• M&A and strategic transactions: build and maintain business plans, three-statement models, DCF and sum-of-the-parts valuations, and support execution from origination through due diligence, structuring, negotiation and integration
• Coordinate diligence workstreams and manage external advisors (banks, legal, tax, technical and financial)
• Write board and investment-committee papers and support shareholder agreements, governance and capital structure
• Equity financing: prepare investor materials, capitalisation tables and dilution analysis, run the investor pipeline and CRM, and manage the data room
• Strategy: produce sector analysis and business cases for new markets, programmes and capabilities
• Investor relations: prepare investor reporting and help manage relationships with existing investors and lenders

Required profile

• 3-7 years in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, transaction services or strategy consulting
• Ability to build three-statement models, DCF and LBOs from scratch
• Rigour, accuracy, discretion and judgement with confidential information
• Fluent English; working French strongly preferred; eligibility to work in Belgium / the EU
• Nice to have: engineering or technical degree, hands-on experience in aerospace, defence or similar industries, cross-border M&A and public-markets experience
