Competition Law Internship – Brussels

About the role

We are offering a twelve‑month stagiaire programme within our leading Competition practice in Brussels. Hired as an independent lawyer under Belgian regulations, the intern will work on EU, UK and global competition law matters, gaining exposure to merger control, antitrust, competition litigation, market investigations and State aid.

Key responsibilities

• Support the legal team on a variety of competition law matters.
• Conduct legal research and due‑diligence investigations.
• Draft client advice, regulator submissions and other documentation.
• Attend client meetings and events, taking and distributing attendance notes.
• Proofread documents and assist with document preparation.
• Develop professional relationships with fee‑earners, clients and the Brussels competition law community.

Required profile

• Strong academic record with high analytical ability.
• EU law qualification or currently obtaining qualification in an EU Member State.
• LLM in European competition law is preferred.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, intellectually stimulating environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
