Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead our cybersecurity strategy, governance and resilience. Based in Brussels with a hybrid work model, you will act as the primary liaison between executive management, IT teams, data‑protection stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and maintain the organization’s information security strategy and governance framework.
• Ensure compliance with NIS2, GDPR and other relevant cybersecurity regulations.
• Conduct security audits, assessments and compliance reviews.
• Develop, maintain and monitor security policies, procedures and risk‑management frameworks.
• Identify, assess and report cybersecurity risks to senior leadership.
• Lead incident response activities and coordinate communication with stakeholders and authorities.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and strengthen the security culture.
• Oversee security controls, monitoring activities and periodic security reviews.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of enterprise IT experience, including at least 5 years in information security or cybersecurity leadership.
• Strong knowledge of NIS2, GDPR and international information‑security standards.
• Proven ability to translate technical risks into business impact for executive audiences.
• Experience managing security incidents, audits and regulatory interactions.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering or a related field.
• Native French proficiency; professional working knowledge of Dutch and English.
