About the role

ALTEN Belgium is seeking a proactive Buyer to support client projects in the Brussels Metropolitan Area. The role focuses on managing supplier relationships, conducting market analysis, and driving cost‑optimization initiatives across European suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain supplier relationships during mass production and pre‑SOP phases, handling coordination, issue follow‑up, and risk escalation.
• Perform market analysis and benchmarking to identify and evaluate potential suppliers across Europe.
• Manage RFQ/RFI processes, analyse quotations, and support supplier selection.
• Prepare and support cost and contract negotiations, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
• Identify cost‑optimization opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement in production.
• Administer contracts and keep accurate supplier documentation.
• Present structured analyses and recommendations to internal stakeholders and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Procurement.
• 1–10 years of experience in purchasing or a manufacturing environment (junior to senior profiles considered).
• Experience in the automotive industry is a strong asset.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Proactive, autonomous, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
