Business & Cost Controller

About the role

The Business & Cost Controller will steer performance and support strategic decisions across Volvo Cars’ after‑sales and SG&A functions. Combining financial insight with a hands‑on mindset, you will turn data into clear recommendations that drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budgeting and monthly forecasting for the after‑sales business, including parts, accessories, subscription services and SG&A expenses.
• Monitor performance, analyse trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to management and budget owners.
• Act as a trusted business partner, challenge assumptions, identify improvement opportunities and support continuous process optimisation.
• Develop and assess business cases for commercial initiatives, marketing investments and strategic projects, including CAPEX and investment requests.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, delivering accurate reporting, variance analysis and updated forecasts.
• Contribute to the digitalisation of finance processes, focusing on efficiency, data quality and AI‑supported tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders and report directly to the CFO.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Applied Economics, Business Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of finance experience, preferably in a controlling environment.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling abilities with a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
• Fluent in English and native‑level Dutch or French, with good command of the other national language.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP and consolidation tools such as SAP, OneStream or Oracle Hyperion.
