Audit Supervisor – Retail Banking

About the role
As an Audit Supervisor for Retail Banking you will lead the planning, execution and reporting of audits across retail banking processes, both locally and abroad. You will work within the 3rd Line of Defense of ING's Corporate Audit Services, ensuring that controls are designed and operating effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of retail banking end‑to‑end processes, inherent risks and regulatory requirements.
- Lead audit engagements, including walkthroughs, stakeholder meetings and data‑analytics‑driven testing.
- Ensure audit issues are discussed, agreed and documented with relevant stakeholders.
- Supervise and coach audit team members, reviewing their work and providing guidance.
- Prepare clear audit reports in line with CAS reporting standards and document findings in Team Mate+.
- Assess the effectiveness of key controls and recommend value‑added improvements.
- Monitor business and risk developments and stay updated on internal audit best practices.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of experience in retail banking (payments, lending, investments, insurance, etc.).
- Master’s degree or equivalent.
- Independent mindset with professional scepticism and the ability to challenge existing patterns.
- Strong communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
- Solution‑oriented attitude and willingness to propose creative solutions.
Required skills
- Data analytics for audit testing.
- Proficiency with Team Mate+ audit workflow tool.
