Associate Underwriter PI/Cyber

About the role

AIG, a global leader in commercial and personal insurance solutions, is looking for a full-time Associate Underwriter for its Financial Lines team in Brussels. The role covers property casualty lines including PI and cyber, and involves managing a diverse portfolio, issuing quotes and underwriting assigned risks in the Financial Institutions sector.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio and collaborate with colleagues and internal stakeholders to implement strategy, keeping the portfolio profitable and growing.
• Contribute to the financial and operational targets of the Financial Lines team through reporting and data analysis requested by management.
• Take part in external presentations, training sessions and meetings to strengthen AIG's presence in the local market.
• Independently manage prestigious SME accounts and major accounts, using technology-driven solutions.
• Analyze risks, issue quotes and underwrite assigned risks in the Financial Institutions sector.
• Follow compliance and underwriting guidelines and promote best practices across the team.

Required profile

• Master's degree in (Applied) Economics, Law or equivalent experience.
• Client-oriented mindset, with a focus on service quality and delivering results the first time.
• Courteous, empathetic and helpful attitude towards external and internal clients, and ability to build a positive team environment.
• Resilience in a fast-paced setting and effective stress management.
• Fluency in Dutch, French and English.
• An affinity for technology and willingness to adopt new tools in underwriting.
