Payroll Specialist Belgium & Netherlands

About the role

IFF is looking for a Payroll Specialist to support accurate, compliant and timely payroll operations for Belgium and the Netherlands. The specialist acts as the payroll subject matter expert across both countries, partnering with employees, HR, Finance, payroll vendors and regional payroll leadership. The role reports to the Regional Payroll Manager and can be based in Olen (Belgium), Zaandam (Netherlands) or Asturias (Spain) on a hybrid basis.

The position is part of the Food Ingredients business unit, which IFF intends to sell to CVC Capital Partners, expected to close in the first half of 2027 pending regulatory approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll administration and day-to-day payroll operations for Belgium and the Netherlands.
• Coordinate payroll inputs, processing, validations and outputs with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Validate payroll data, outputs, statutory calculations, social security requirements, reporting and country-specific obligations.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian and Dutch payroll legislation, tax obligations and local practices.
• Support payroll in manufacturing and labour environments governed by collective bargaining agreements and union rules.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, Total Rewards, Shared Services and regional payroll leadership.
• First 12 months: support payroll continuity and Day 1 readiness during the transition to a standalone organization, build relationships with vendors and partners, complete payroll process documentation and validate key controls, and support stabilization and improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated payroll experience supporting Belgium payroll operations; Netherlands payroll exposure strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian payroll legislation, social security and statutory reporting.
• Working knowledge of Dutch payroll practices or ability to support Netherlands payroll through vendor partnership.
• Experience in manufacturing, unionized or labour-intensive environments.
• Strong business English and Dutch.
