Application Modernization Architect

About the role

Accenture Technology is seeking an Application Modernization Architect to help clients transform their digital core. You will design and guide modernization strategies that combine progressive, business‑driven approaches with fast, technology‑driven execution.

Key responsibilities

• Define tailored application modernization strategies that balance progressive and scaled approaches.
• Design target architectures and migration roadmaps using cloud‑native solutions, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
• Partner with client stakeholders to translate business needs into concrete modernization solutions.
• Support delivery teams to ensure architectural compliance, scalability, and security.
• Guide technology selection and integrate cloud platforms, APIs, and automation tools.
• Collaborate with Accenture Cloud, Data, and AI teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Provide advisory and thought leadership, showcasing Accenture’s modernization assets.
• Mentor colleagues and develop reusable accelerators to grow the S&PE capability.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in application architecture, modernization or cloud transformation.
• Strong consulting and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluency in English and French or Dutch.
• Experience with portfolio assessment and migration planning is a plus.
• Knowledge of AI‑assisted modernization approaches is a plus.
